How I Launched a Newsletter in 1 Hour Using ChatGPT

In this first issue, I’m going to show you how I launched a newsletter using ChatGPT in 1 hour. Let’s dive right in!

In this first issue, I’m going to show you how I launched a newsletter using ChatGPT in 1 hour. Let’s dive right in!

You can see the newsletter I’ve launched at https://coloringowl.com/. This is a work in progress, I will keep you updated.

This is an email list where I publish fresh coloring pages in each issue, for parents and teachers.

Here are a few prompts I’ve used and the generated images:

Prompt:

Generate a cute baby owl coloring page suitable for kids. Black and white. Simple solid lines. The image must be suitable for coloring. White background, black lines. No shadows, no shading. Only black or white areas. No gray areas.

Prompt:

Generate an owl in a forest with detailed background coloring page suitable for kids. Black and white. Simple solid lines. The image must be suitable for coloring. White background, black lines. No shadows, no shading. Only black or white areas. No gray areas. Do not create areas with black background. Without border.

The images are not perfect, I’m working on improving the prompts and images. I used the ChatGPT-4o model (paid version).

For now, I generated the images manually, one by one. I need to generate these in bulk later and then use APIs to automate the process. The newsletter platform is Beehiiv.

Once I finished generating the images, I used Google Docs to create a PDF file from the images. The challenge here is that ChatGPT uses the WebP file format as output, but you cannot upload WebP to Google Docs. I had to convert these image files to PNG first. Then it’s possible to upload the images in bulk to Google Docs and generate the PDF file. The whole process was manual, next up I need to automate the process.

Then I generated a logo for the newsletter using this prompt:

Generate a logo for my newsletter. This newsletter is called Coloring Owl. It is about coloring pages for kids. Make sure that the logo contains an owl. Please generate a modern, minimalist logo.

Generated logo:

Then I used these prompts to generate the text of the welcome email and the first issue:

Generate a welcome email for my newsletter. This newsletter is called Coloring Owl. It is about coloring pages for kids.

Generate text for my newsletter. This newsletter is called Coloring Owl. It is about coloring pages for parents and teachers. The first issue is about owl coloring pages. The reader can download a PDF with the owl coloring page images.

I enhanced the first issue about “owl coloring pages” with interesting facts about owls:

Generate fun an interesting facts about owls.
